Recovery After Dark, Therapy with Orlando
Orlando Suarez, AMFT, grew up in a small suburb of San Diego, shaped by the values of integrity, honesty, and resilience.
He moved to Los Angeles to attend UCLA, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Communications, and later completed his Master’s in Clinical Psychology at Antioch University.
He has over a decade of experience in addiction and mental health treatment. He began his work assisting with interventions, supporting clients and families during critical moments of change. He later worked as a sober companion, providing one-on-one support before, during, and after treatment, and helping clients transition between levels of care.
He has also worked as a case manager and now provides outpatient therapy, with experience across both substance use and process addictions.
This work informs his clinical approach—bringing awareness, presence, and discipline into the process of change.
Orlando’s professional path shifted during COVID, leading him to deepen his work in mental health and addiction treatment.
Orlando’s work is direct, practical, and focused on change.
He works with individuals who are functioning on the outside but struggling privately—helping them step out of repetitive patterns and build a life that is more aligned, stable, and sustainable.
